Does Your Site Need a Redesign?

07 September 2016

A complete redesign of your website can be a large, lengthy project. It’s natural for business owners to want to put off the redesign as long as possible due to the financial and time investment. However, this investment is more than worth it — you need to stay technologically up to date to be able to compete with your digital marketing.

Here are a few situations that could indicate your site needs a redesign:

  • It’s not mobile friendly. Mobile browsing has absolutely exploded in recent years, and the percentage of people who primarily browse the Internet on mobile devices is only going to continue to increase moving forward. Therefore, if your site is not mobile friendly, you absolutely have to redesign or risk being severely punished by Google.
  • You don’t currently have social media incorporated. Again, if your site doesn’t incorporate social media in any way, you are already behind the times. Social media has become extremely important for building relationships with customers, and having it tied into the website for easier sharing can help you to increase your social presence
  • You need new tools and functionality. If your site does not currently have a blog, a sales platform, forums or any other types of features you think are necessary to keep building your digital presence, then it may be time to consider a redesign.
  • It simply looks outdated. It’s pretty easy to determine whether a site looks outdated. Low-quality images, flash designs, poor color schemes and unprofessional-looking elements can all damage your business’s image. Having a professional go through your site and give you a good-quality redesign can do a lot for your digital presence.
  • It is not user friendly. If you have any reason to believe people using your site have a hard time navigating around or have data showing they’re not staying on your site for long, this is likely a problem with your web design. A redesign can make the site significantly easier to use.
  • You are undergoing a rebrand. Maybe you already have a quality web design, but are currently going through a rebranding process at your company. Changing up your web design to reflect this rebrand is necessary so as not to confuse your customers.
