Windows 11 vs. Windows 10: Major Differences

14 March 2022

Windows 10 has been around for quite some time since its inception in July 2015. However, like any other technological innovation, it’s bound to become obsolete. To keep up with the ever-changing technology and user tastes, Microsoft launched Windows 11 in June 2021. By mid-2022, the operating system will be accessible to all compatible computers.

This write-up will highlight some of the significant differences between the two operating systems.

Design and Interface

Unlike in Windows 10, the design and interface in Windows 11 are state-of-the-art and better. The newfangled Windows 11 has a mac-like interface that gives users a superb macOS experience. With this ultra-modern design and interface, people using windows 11 have access to more personalization features.

Snap Layouts

One of the critical features that set Windows 11 apart from Windows 10 is the snap layouts. This feature allows users to catalog apps by automatically grouping them, enabling easier access on your windows device. Additionally, snap layouts have many layout options for opened tabs. In Windows 10, the snap feature was manual and tedious. However, it is worth noting that the snap layout options from Windows 11 vary depending on the screen size of a user's device.

Microsoft store

The Microsoft store available in Windows 11 is on a whole new level. Firstly, it has been integrated with the Amazon store to become a one-stop-shop for all android apps. The store's design resembles that of the Mac store and comes with extra games and apps, including those in Windows 10.

Improved Gaming

Although both operating systems support gaming, Windows 11 is superior to Windows 10. It comes with additional facets such as Direct storage and Auto HDR for enhanced gaming. Moreover, Windows 11 has a dedicated Xbox app that enables users to enjoy Microsoft's best games. Consumers can also stream their favorite games on social media platforms with the Xbox app.

The differences mentioned above are apparent. Windows 11 is a higher-level OS than its predecessor, and users should consider upgrading from Windows 10. However, it is noteworthy that Windows 11 requires higher processing speeds and system configurations.
